JLS Tour Diary: The Journey 23rd December 2010

Hey Guys,

So it’s the end of the JLS tour… it’s been a great journey.  I’ve been having so much fun with everyone and the boys and crew have made it such a nice atmosphere- it’s gonna be sad to leave it all!

Getting to know JLS was great- the boys have a cool vibe and were really supportive.  The whole experience was just amazing, and if I could do it all over again tomorrow- I’d be on that plane ready to fly to Aberdeen- rain, snow, sleet or hail!

So here I am with the boys backstage in Manchester!

Thought I’d also show you some pictures from nights out we all had with everyone!

Here’s me and Marcus in Manchester:

This is me, Steffe and two of the JLS dancers, Jack and Anthony in Newcastle…

Here I am with my three backing singers, Steffe, Nadia, and Marcus, and Duane, who is one of the dancers for other support act Starboy Nathan, in Manchester:

I think the best part of the tour was meeting new people and making some amazing friends! We’ve all been lucky to get on so well with the other support acts, Starboy Nathan and the Beatbullyz. We shared dressing rooms quite a bit so we’ve all got really close and it’s gonna be sad to leave them… but I’m sure we’ll all party again soon and keep in touch!

Last week I heard that I was gonna be made Record of the Week on Radio 2, which was AMAZING to hear.. so amazing, in fact, that we all decided to celebrate with some much needed tequila in Newcastle (after the show of course)!

So tonight at Wembley was the last show of the tour and now I have a week of relaxing over Christmas with family and friends before starting a busy month up to the release of my new single ‘Loved’ on 16 January!  Make sure to check out iTunes and pre-order now guys!

Hope you’ve all done your Christmas shopping and are enjoying the snow!!!

Thanx to everyone who’s been supporting me through the tour, the audiences have been amazing which makes really makes the whole experience worthwhile.

Big love, Happy Holidays, and Merry Christmas!

JLS Tour Diary: Thinking back… on this tour and another 16th December 2010

So it’s the middle of my support tour with JLS – a good time to look back over the past couple weeks.  Well guys, there’s been snow, there’s been weather, big crowds, loud crowds, and everything in between.  But the one rock throughout the whole tour has been you amazing fans!  Thanks for the support along the way, and please continue to stay tuned – there are still more dates to come after all!

Talking of tours… a few weeks ago I went to see Paramore in concert at the O2.  They were pretty amazing live and all in all it was a really good show.  Hayley Williams voice is, in my eyes, one of the best female voices out there. Not many people would really think of her as a serious vocalist becaue she’s in a Rock/Punk band, but did you guys know she’s a classically trained singer?!  No wonder her tone is so amazing!

Here are a few pics I took from the concert…

I’ve been following these guys for a few years now so it was very cool to see them sell out the 02!  I’ll share my fav song by them and then will be going to bed… enjoy!

JLS Tour Diary: Learn “The Dougie”! 06th December 2010

Hey y’all,

So I’m on my way to Bournemouth and while I’m all cooped up in this car, I couldn’t help but remember a little something I picked up out way out west…

So tonight boys and girls I’m gonna introduce you to “The Dougie”. This is something I came across while I was in LA this summer and have loved it ever since! It’s kinda like the Soldier Boy dance but a lot cooler and just makes you smile… Chris Brown has got it down to a T, and by the end of tour, with a little help from the dancers, I’m gonna be genius at it I’ve decided!

Here’s a little clip of Chris Brown doing the Dougie…

And my fav… John Wall from the Washington Wizards…

Your challenge is to learn The Dougie, upload your videos to YouTube and tweet me the link!

Aaaaannnndddddddd GO!

JLS Tour Diary: Snowed out of Day One! 03rd December 2010

So… first day of the JLS tour…FAIL!! Monday morning we got on a plane to Aberdeen, circled above Aberdeen for about an hour, and then landed back in Heathrow… hmmmmm… wasn’t cool! The snow stopped us from landing in Aberdeen and getting to our first night of the JLS tour, which was really disappointing. We then grabbed a flight to Glasgow – just in time for the second day. Such a shame to miss the first night, but Glasgow was an awesome crowd and we had a lot of fun!☺ Thanks Glasgow!

Allow me to introduce my brilliant backing singers, Steph, Marcus and Nadia. They’re travelling on tour with me along with my tour managers Ray and Adam So far we are amusing ourselves quite a bit and I think it’s gonna be a fun run!!

At the moment we’re in Liverpool until Saturday, and then we drive up to Cardiff and finally all the way back to London for our day off! So it’s all go go go here!!

The JLS boys are all really cool and the other support acts – Nathan and BeatBullyz – are a lot of fun too.

I will make sure to show you guys photos and backstage snippets as we go along – so watch out for them along with some fun videos I’m taking to give you all a sneak peek of what it’s like backstage and behind the scenes of tour, including all the mischief we’re getting up to!!

Until then I’ll catch you in the week with a few more fun blogs- look out for them on www.edei.co.uk. ☺

Big lovings,

Edei

Let’s talk music… 21st November 2010

Soooo, let’s talk music.
I wanted to share a little bit about my favourite artist, Gavin Degraw. I started listening to him when I was about 15 and have loved him ever since. He is such an amazing lyricist and has inspired me with a lot of things.  My favourite song by him is called, “Belief”, which you should all go listen to… now! Here’s the link:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uUqpCIZT-eE&feature=related
You guys may know him from the One Tree Hill soundtrack but you should check out all his stuff – cos he’s pretty cool! People have been asking me what type of music I listen to and I really don’t have a specific favourite genre. I have such a wide range of music on my ipod- and so there’s a massive variety of tunes being played in my ear, from soul to British hip hop, from rock to pop. I think I probably owe my musical tastes to my family- growing up with brothers and a dad that listened to Rod Stewart, from my older bro playing things like Radiohead and Roots Manuva. I was always interested in finding new music and looking at different genres. This is one song by Roots that I remember from when my brother first introduced me too British hip hop. It has stuck with me ever since…
Through my dad listening to Rod Stewart (which I always used to complain about when I was little!), I started to look more into the roots of soul, listening to a lot of Marvin Gaye, Patti Labelle, and Lauren Hill when I was younger. That and MJ, but I guess that’s a given. I think everyone took some sort of inspiration from him!
So one last song I’ll leave you all with is a song I listened to when I was really little by Rod Stewart, because although people may think it’s weird and that he’s not “cool” he gave me my soul roots. So for that I thank him. And here’s my favourite song by him! Just take a second to look at how young he is here- check out his interesting makeup and clothing choice! Ha! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-aDbLa5G5GE
Big love
